Industry Standard "Security Cable" Released and Implemented to Fill Industry Blank

Introduction: Recently, the reporter learned from the National Security and Alarm System Standardization Technical Committee (referred to as "SAC/TC100"). The industry standard "Security Cable" submitted for approval by the committee was approved by the Ministry of Public Security Technology Supervision Committee. The serial number and name are: GA/T1297-2016 "Safety Cable", which will be implemented on August 1, 2016.

"Security cable" is applicable to intrusion alarm systems and video surveillance systems where the rated voltage U0/U is 300/500V or less (the nominal voltage of the system should not exceed 1.5 times the rated voltage of the cable when used in a DC system). Entry and exit control systems (including building intercom systems, electronic patrol systems, parking lot (library) safety management systems, etc.), explosion-proof safety inspection systems, and cables used in security systems that are combined or integrated by these systems. The main contents of the standard relate to the scope of application of the standard, terms and definitions of security cables, classification of security cables, marking and naming, technical requirements, related test methods, inspection rules and other contents.

Li Jianping, an expert from the expert committee of the China Security Association, said that the security cable is the "blood vessel" and "nerve" of the security system. Before the implementation of this standard, the security cable industry standard was always in a vacuum state. GA/T1297-2016 “Safety Cable” was approved for release and implementation, achieving another breakthrough in industry standardization and filling a gap in the security industry standard system.

The standard started from the pre-research, application for the project to the release, before and after more than three years. During the period, the Chinese Association of Security Products Industry cooperated with SAC/TC100 to do a lot of preliminary research and organization work, and contributed a force to the orderly development of the industry. At the same time, the China Security Wire Alliance (Wisdom Transmission Alliance) that accompanies the establishment of this standard has also played a great role in promoting the implementation of the standard!
