Chinalco is the third largest aluminum company in the world. Its alumina production ranks second in the world, its aluminum processing scale is the largest in Asia, and its electrolytic aluminum production ranks first in the country. Hualco is the only electrolytic aluminum producer in the province that is permitted and encouraged by the state. It is the largest nonferrous metal smelting and processing enterprise in East China and is also one of the top 50 key companies in China's non-ferrous metals industry. Zhejiang and East China are important markets for aluminum consumption in China, and also the regions with the greatest potential for copper and aluminum processing. At present, Chinalco has completed strategic deployments outside the East China region throughout the country. The cooperation between the provincial government and Chinalco is of strategic importance. In particular, for Hualco, “Zhongshou” can use its advantages to effectively reduce operating costs, extend the industrial chain, and expand the space for survival and development. Aluminum processing industry and economic and social development have a positive driving role.

The cooperation between the two parties began in January 2006 and lasted several dozen times. At the end of September last year, Song Zhiheng, secretary of the Lanxi City Party Committee, led a team to visit the relevant person in charge of Chinalco and strengthened the confidence of Chinalco and Hualco. On January 8 this year, the provincial government signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Chinalco based on the cooperation between Chinalco Aluminum Corporation and Chinalco. The Lanxi Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government attached great importance to the cooperation projects between Chinalco and Hualco, and listed it as the first major problem for this year’s “Corporate Services Year” campaign.
