Second, respond more effectively to impact loads. For the scraper, the change in the force and the presence of the impact load are a major test for the performance of the bearing. Standard ball bearings and cylindrical roller bearings are made of high carbon steel. After full heat treatment, the hardness of the ball bearings and the cylinders are up to HRC 58~64. However, such texture will be more brittle when encountered. When a large impact load is applied, cracks are easily generated and the bearing is damaged. For standard tapered roller bearings, there are some brands on the market, such as Timken ® , which use low carbon steel as the raw material and use a surface carburizing heat treatment process. Its bearings are characterized by a hard surface (HRC58~64) and a soft heart (HRC30~35), which can reduce the impact load. In addition, this carburizing heat treatment method produces a compressive stress on the bearing surface, which can inhibit the crack propagation and prolong the service life of the bearing.
