Chinese Academy of Sciences black silicon polycrystalline solar cell efficiency exceeded 18.3%

The innovation team led by Xia Yang, associate dean of the Institute of Applied Technology, Zhejiang Academy of Sciences, made further progress in the research of black silicon solar cells. Following the battery conversion efficiency of 17.88% in November 2012, the current efficiency of polysilicon solar cells exceeded 18.3%, and the same technology ranks among the world's leading.

This technology utilizes a plasma immersion ion implantation device developed by the Institute to prepare a black silicon material with a nano-surface structure. The black silicon nanostructures have good light-absorbing performance and can also improve the filling factor and short-circuit current of the battery, thereby greatly improving the conversion efficiency of the battery. The technology is simple and controllable. It can reduce the use and discharge of chemical liquids. It is fully compatible with the existing silicon battery production line technology and is expected to occupy a technological advantage in the development of a new round of photovoltaic industry and contribute to China's photovoltaic industry.
