China's machine tool export product structure needs further optimization

Low-end resource and high-energy products account for a large proportion, and the structure of export products needs to be further optimized.

China Machine Tool Industry Association statistics show that in 2010 China's machine tool exports totaled 7.03 billion US dollars, an increase of 48.4%, of which metal processing machine tool exports 1.85 billion US dollars, an increase of 31.3%, its growth rate is significantly lower than the increase of machine tool products speed. Among the export products, the export volume of abrasives continued to grow at a high rate of US$1.53 billion, up 100% year-on-year. The cutting tools and tools became the two largest types of products exported by the machine tool industry, accounting for 44.6 of the export value of machine tool products. %. Among these two types of products, resource-based and high-energy-consuming products such as low-grade abrasives and knives account for a large proportion, while the proportion of exports of machine tools with relatively high added value is getting smaller and smaller, accounting for only 26.3%, compared with 2009. The year-on-year decrease was 3.4 percentage points, and the unreasonable structure of export products has not changed.
