CAD tutorial: Realize linkage with the 3D stretching command

Zhongwang 3D is a very powerful CAD/CAM software. It is familiar with the functions of Zhongwang 3D, which allows us to fully appreciate the fun of design. Today I will share with you how to use the 3D stretch command to achieve linkage update between entities.

Product design is a process from scratch. In the conceptual design phase, designers need to constantly adjust product parameters to obtain an ideal design and ultimately form a product. There is a certain size relationship between the characteristics of the product. As shown in the figure below, this is the prototype of a shaft. The largest part has a diameter of 70, followed by 60, 50. The diameter difference between each stage is constant. 10. If it is found in the later design, it is found that the diameter of the outermost portion determined at the beginning is too large or too small, and it needs to be adjusted. After adjusting the maximum size, how to ensure that the other two sizes are also linked and updated automatically. Here, we need to use the 3D stretching command to achieve this effect.

First of all, let's talk about the characteristics of the 3D stretch command. When the Inventor executes the stretch command, the default feature of the stretch is that the face is different. When the 3D stretch command is executed, the stretch feature is a solid outline (of course, Zhongwang 3D can also stretch other objects, such as sketches and curve lists, which are not detailed here. The following figure shows the stretching command of Zhongwang 3D. You can select the edge of the solid as the stretching object.

The first step is to draw a cylinder with a diameter of 70 on the XZ plane. Here, we select the "cylinder" provided by Zhongwang 3D to create the command directly, and generate the entity shown in the above figure.

In the second step, execute the stretch command. The stretch parameters are as shown in the figure below, and select the edge of the cylinder generated in the previous step. After selecting this edge, Zhongwang 3D associates the diameter of the next cylinder with this edge by default. Set the corresponding value at the "contraction and expansion" parameter of the stretch, and stretch the resulting cylinder diameter, which will automatically offset inward or outward based on this side strip.
