In recent years, relying on two key scientific and technological breakthroughs in the “Key Technology Research of Dairy Cows' In Vitro Sex Controlling Embryonic Industrial Production” and “Industrialization of Cattle and Sheep Embryo Transplantation Project”, experts from the Animal Husbandry and Animal Science College of Annonda have conquered a batch of cattle and sheep The key technologies for large-scale development have achieved three technical achievements and one patent, and the overall research results have reached the leading level in China, providing strong technical support for the industrialization of the production of cattle and sheep embryos in our province.

In order to overcome the challenges of "key technology research on the in vitro production of sex-controlled embryos for dairy cows," the experts conducted systematic research on the collection, transportation, cryopreservation, in vitro maturation and in vitro fertilization of dairy oocytes, and established industrialization suitable for them. Demand for in vitro controlled embryonic production technology system for dairy cows. Zhang Xiaorong, head of the Institute of Animal Science and Technology, told reporters that the economic value of a cow is about 10 times that of a bull. With this technology, the number of dairy cows is expected to double. As far as our province is concerned, if the technology is fully promoted, the annual increase in the number of dairy cows will be more than 15,000, and the economic benefits will be considerable.

The “key technology for the in vitro production of embryos for industrialized production of dairy cows” was solved. The researchers also matured the industrialization technology of cattle and sheep embryo transplantation engineering, and formed a stable industrial technology system for cattle and sheep embryo transplantation, which was carried out in production. The large-scale promotion and application has established more than 10 cattle and sheep embryo implantation engineering demonstration bases in large cattle and sheep breeding enterprises inside and outside the province. So far, more than 20,000 cattle and sheep embryos have been transplanted, and more than 11,000 heads of dairy cattle, beef cattle, and boer goats have been transplanted.
