400 series stainless steel has a strong ability to resist high temperature oxidation. Compared with carbon steel, the physical and mechanical properties are improved further.
Most of the 400 series stainless steel can be heat treatment.
400 series stainless steel is Ferritic stainless steel, the advantage is the price is relatively cheap than 300 series, but the antirust effect is relatively weaker than 300 series stainless steel.
403, 410, 416, 420, 430, 440 and etc. are straight chromium alloy, magnetic and can be hardened by heat treatment. It is used for fasteners, p ump shafts and turbine blades.

Common surface treatment:
No.1: After hot rolled, annealed and passivated, and the surface of the steel plate is a dull surface, a bit rough.
No. 2D: After cold rolling, annealing, pickled and passivated, finally lightly rolled by dull roll, the surface processing is better than N0.1, but it is also a dull surface.
No. 2B:This is the most commonly used in construction. Same as above with additional pass through highly polished rollers. The surface is slightly light-emitting, and it can be polished.
No.BA:this is a reflective surface, after polishing roller rolling and final annealing in a controlled atmosphere.Bright annealing still maintains its reflecting surface, and does not produce scale.As bright annealing does not occur in the process of oxidation reaction, therefore, do not need to pickling and passivation.
No. 3: Coarse abrasive finish applied mechanically
No. 4: Brushed finish, one-way surface processing, reflex is not strong. This kind of surface may be the most versatile in building industry.The process stepsare use coarse abrasive polishingfirst and then use abrasive particle180 to grind.Wiredrawing:there are several kinds of effect about wire drawing general: Hairline(HL), Snow and Nylon Line. HL generally uses fixed front-and-back movement. Snow pattern is one of the most popularnow, consisting of rules a little bit of a point, can be made by sandpaper.Nylon line is composed of different length lines, because nylon wheelis soft, it can grind uneven parts.

No. 6: Matte finish (brushed but smoother than #4)
No. 7: Reflective finish
4B: One side is 2B, another is No.4.
