Vietnam will end the history of nitrogen-dependent imports

In order to speed up the development of the nitrogen fertilizer industry, Vietnam is working with Chinese companies to build nitrogen fertilizer production facilities. The three projects under construction will add 1.68 million tons/year of nitrogen fertilizer production capacity. After the project is put into production, Vietnam will transform from a nitrogen fertilizer importing country to an exporting country.

The nitrogen fertilizer companies currently under construction include: Ningping Nitrogen Fertilizer Plant, with a designed annual output of 560,000 tons, which is generally contracted by China Ryukyu Engineering Company and will be put into production in November this year; Jinyu Nitrogen Fertilizer Plant, with a designed annual output of 800,000 tons, will be manufactured by China Machinery. China Import and Export Corporation and China Wuhuan Engineering Co., Ltd. jointly contracted and will put into production in 2012; Hebei nitrogen fertilizer plant expansion and expansion project, the annual output from the current 180,000 tons to 500,000 tons, by the China National Machinery Import and Export Corporation The general contractor started construction in November 2010. In addition, the Vietnam Ngongqing Group plans to build a nitrogen fertilizer project with an annual output of 560,000 tons.

The annual demand for nitrogenous fertilizers in Vietnam is 1.7 million to 2 million tons. The only domestic manufacturers are Fumei Nitrogen Fertilizer Plant and Hebei Nitrogen Fertilizer Plant. The annual output is 1 million to 1.1 million tons, and 700,000 to 900,000 tons are imported every year. The main importer is China.
