Kobe Steel produces the toughest aluminum alloy in the world

March 29, Tokyo Electric Power: On Thursday, Japan's Kobe Steel stated that the company produced a harder aluminum alloy in the world, which is widely used.

Kobe Steel stated that the company is now applying for a patent for this new aluminum alloy. The stretchable length of this aluminum alloy is 10% longer than that of Lockheed Martin's aluminum-lithium alloy, which is currently the world's toughest.

The company said that this new material can be used for racing and space shuttles. It is estimated that the commercial transaction of this alloy will begin in 2008.
