Ultra-thin solar "foil"

Recently, Japanese and Austrian scientists have jointly developed the thinnest solar “plate†so far – a solar foil that is only 1.9 microns thick. The foil is light and tough, not only very light weight, but also has the general softness of plastic and can be attached to any shape of surface, thus greatly improving the light absorption efficiency. Although the efficiency of spot conversion of the solar foil is still low, we have reason to believe that high efficiency, lightness and toughness will become new directions for solar energy development, so as to better improve our living environment and relieve the energy crisis.
