As a representative of advanced manufacturing, automobiles have high requirements for the precision and flexibility of production equipment. CNC tools play a key role in the automotive industry. Many processes must use special tools and composite tools, such as engine crankshafts. Whether it is internal milling, car pulling or high-speed milling, all special tools are used. The tool body of the tool is complex to manufacture and has high technical content, which puts high demands on the tool manufacturing enterprises in China.

The following describes the application of CNC tools in the automotive industry from several aspects:

1 PCD superhard tool in the automotive industry

The application of PCD tools is the most effective way to achieve high speed, high efficiency, high stability and low cost. Due to the extremely high hardness of the PCD tool, it maintains high wear resistance at high cutting speeds, and because it has very low friction coefficient with non-ferrous metals, it does not cause built-up edge during cutting, and the surface roughness of the machine is processed. Very good, dimensional accuracy is very stable, the cutting edge can be made very sharp, the cutting is very light, especially at the exit of the tool, there is almost no flash burr. Such as shank PCD milling cutter, PCD boring tool, PCD reamer, etc., the shank type is mainly cylindrical handle, taper shank and HSK handle. This type of tool (especially multi-toothed tool) is characterized by small beating of the cutting edge (for example, the cutting edge of the HSK shank PCD milling cutter with a blade length of 30 mm is only O.002 mm), which is especially suitable for various types. Large-volume high-speed machining of forming surfaces, holes, stepped holes, etc. of non-ferrous metal parts. For example, the PCD high-speed milling cutter (six-blade, diameter 100mm) with aluminum base cutter has a maximum speed of 20,000r/min or more and a cutting speed of 7,000m/min, which is suitable for forming surface of automotive parts.
