Therefore, the door and window sealing strip should have good resilience, sealing and weather resistance, so as to have the effects of heat insulation, sound insulation, dustproof and waterproof.
Although the door and window seals have a small specific gravity, the effect cannot be underestimated. Inferior door and window seals are not only environmentally friendly, they contain odors that can cause damage to your body and pollute the air. At present, the main products of sealing strips commonly used in aluminum alloy doors and windows are: PVC, EPDM, thermoplastic elastomer (TPV), silicone rubber, etc., each with its own advantages and inferior quality.
First, PVC sealing strip
Performance: The environment is polluted during production, the product has poor weather resistance, and the comprehensive physical and mechanical properties are poor. It will harden, shrink and crack when exposed to low temperature. Can be welded.
Specific gravity: high-grade 1.5g/cm3; mid-range 1.6g/cm3; low-grade 1.7g/cm3.
Service life: 1-3 years. Since PVC products contain halogens and stabilizers contain heavy metals, they are not environmentally friendly. Therefore, PVC strips have been eliminated or restricted in developed countries and domestic coastal cities.

Second, EPDM (EPDM) door and window sealing strip
Performance: It has good weather resistance, ozone resistance and aging resistance; better comprehensive physical and mechanical properties; it is also very good for photooxidation. Not tinted, not solderable.
Specific gravity: 1.3-1.35g/cm3
Service life: more than 20 years, the product is environmentally friendly, the product construction is simple, and the anti-seepage, leak-proof and water-stopping effects are good.
Recommended index: Recommended for general projects in non-cold areas.
Third, TPV (thermoplastic elastomer) door and window sealing strip
Performance: Excellent anti-ozone and weathering resistance; better comprehensive physical and mechanical properties, also excellent for photooxidation. Can be tinted and can be welded.
Specific gravity: 1.05-1.15g/cm3
Service life: 25 years or more
Recommended index: Recommended for cold areas.
Fourth, silicone rubber door and window sealing strip
Performance: superior ozone and weather resistance; excellent elasticity and good compression deformation; color and high color fastness. Not solderable.
Specific gravity: 1.18-1.25g/cm3
Service life: more than 50 years.
Recommended index: recommended for use in severe cold areas/high-end projects.
